Dr. Seckel, I am interested in finding our more information about the Sculptra procedure. I have had liposuction done in my chin and neck area which I am very happy with. However, I am not happy with the way that my neck area looks. There is some loose skin and lines in my neck. I’m not sure that I want a neck lift just yet (I’m 51 and in fairly good shape) so I’m wondering if Sculptra would be a solution. I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Leslie, Boston, MA.
Dear Leslie,
Sculptra® is an injectable soft tissue filler which is used to plump up and camouflage the deep facial lines around the nose and mouth like the nasal-labial fold lines and marionette lines.
Sculptra® is not used for skin tightening in the neck and would not help wrinkles and loose skin in the neck.
A neck lift or mini face lift or face lift would be a very good solution but as you say you are not ready for that.
The best option for you is a non-surgical facial skin rejuvenation procedure called skin tightening which is done with radiofrequency or infrared energy to tighten face and neck skin.
There are many machines available, LuxIR, Refirme, Thermage®, Titan®, and Aluma® with FACES®.
The Aluma® with FACES® is the newest and best procedure. Thermage® and Titan® take 1 to 1 ½ hours and hurt. Nerve blocks or anesthesia is required with Thermage®.
Aluma® with FACES® takes only 15 to 30 minutes and is much less painful.
I have had the Aluma® with FACES® procedure done on one side of my face as a test with a demo unit and I am very impressed with the skin tightening and wrinkle removal.
This machine is very new and not widely available. For more information on skin tightening and non-sugical facial rejuvenation read Save Your Face or contact me.
Thank you.
