Dear Dr. Seckel I had the thread lift and I did not like the results. The tissue that was lifted up was pushed into my eyes making look as if I have bags. and I had the same problem I had dents when I went back the Dr moved them with her fingers. but on one side I still have a dent. It’s not the Dr’s fault it just the threads did not work for me and I wish I had never got them it didn’t correct the nasal folds at all. I am thinking about the weekend lift or lifestyle lift, as I don’t want the scars associated with the s lift. Thank you, Crazy girl
Dear Crazy Girl.
I am sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience with the thread lift. I have had other emails from patients who have had similar problems with the thread lift. Obviously the thread lift technique has not been perfected, and for this reason I do not do it. I prefer the classic face lift which is the gold standard.
Since you have had one bad experience I would urge you to be cautious about jumping into another procedure. Many of the “new operations” are heavily marketed, sound great and make promises such as “no down time”, no scars etc, but often they do not deliver the promised results.
I have no experience with the lifestyle lift, have never done it, no little about it so I cannot comment on the lifestyle lift.
As you have experienced with the thread lift, often the promises do not hold true.
What I do know, after performing thousands of facial rejuvenation procedures over the past 25 years is that good results are totally dependant on the skill of the surgeon who performs them not the marketed name the operation is called.
The most important thing for you to do in my opinion is to seek consultation with 2 different plastic surgeons that are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Board certification is a guarantee of training and standards.
You need an honest opinion by an experienced board certified ethical plastic surgeon who has the experience, knowledge and skill to give you the result you want.
Don’t be fooled by advertisements with fancy names that promise you a face lift or non-surgical face lift with no scars, no surgery, and no down time. You need ethical expert advice by a professional who is skilled and can do the proper face lift procedure to lift your face and cheeks effectively and safely.
In my practice I do a modified face lift procedure to improve the nasal labial folds. I call that procedure a cheek lift, mid face lift, or mini face lift—the scars are hidden in the hair and the crease in front of the ear.
I have no idea what a weekend lift does-it depends on who does it—it is, in my opinion a marketing ploy.
In Chapter 10 of my book Save Your Face entitled “Don’t Let Just Anyone Touch Your Face” I detail how to find a board certified plastic surgeon and what questions to ask to find a good doctor.
I urge you to read this chapter in my book.
You don’t want another bad experience.
