Dear Dr. Seckel, I am 21 years old and I have dark circles under my eyes. I would love to be able to get rid of them as much as possible so I don’t have to waste time putting cover up on. I was wondering is the laser blepharoplasty with arcus marginalis release to correct dark circles an option? Thank you, Isabel, Mechanicsville, MD

Dear Isabel,

Dark circles under the eyes are a very common problem for many people. Although we usually think of the eyelid rejuvenation procedure as a procedure for older people who have aging changes like puffy eyes, eaye bags and laxity of the eyelids, in fact many younger people today are troubled by dark circles under the eyes and are seeking correction with a transconjunctival laser blepharoplasty with arcus marginalis release and fat repositioning or fat grafting to correct dark circles under the eyes,

I have written a lot about Laser blepharoplasty and arcus marginalis release on this website and I suggest you read the blogs about dark circles under the eyes in the archives section of ask dr seckel and whats new.

If you would like to email me a photo of your eyes (confidentiality respected they will not be shown to anyone) I can tell you better if the transconjunctival laser blepharoplasty with arcus marginalis release and fat repositioning might be an option for you.

For more information on dark circlesunder the eyes, blepharoplasty and non-surgical facial rejuvenation read Save Your Face or contact me.

Thank you,

Dr Seckel
